i've been super delinquent about updating my blog lately. life has just gotten in the way. and time has just been flying by. i.e. monday night i blinked and it's now practically friday. what the what?!
the "thursday three"post isn't quite as glamourous as the original "sunday six" and it's spinoff, "tuesday ten." but, it'll have to do.
1. gary go: wonderful. this song makes everything a million times more epic—like, slow motion, epic. i listened to it tonight when i went running and felt like i was in an inspirational movie. {p.s. the fact that i've been regularly running over three miles at a time should be an inspiration to anyone with an aversion to exercise.}
also, pretty sure i've blogged about this song before. it's just that amazing.
2. it was light outside when i left work today. which basically means it's almost summer. at least that's what i like to think.
{i took this fabulous snapshot out my windshield. A+ for effort, but it won't be appearing in your local art gallery anytime soon.}
3. "a dolla' makes me holla', honey boo boo."
tlc's toddlers & tiaras = complete train wreck. this video has been all over the internet for the past several weeks. absolutely atrocious. and when i say atrocious, i actually mean hilarious. in a sad, sad way.
the play-by-play:
{meet alana.}
{no caption necessary, here.}
{can you tell she drinks large amounts of caffeinated "go-go juice?"}
cake with giants is an absolutely lovely shop by melbourne designer and illustrator extraordinaire, amy borrell. below are several of her pieces currently for sale on etsy. visit her blog here.
1. i loved anything pink, purple or glittery. remember lisa frank?
2. my favorite tv show was reading rainbow. yes, i was a total nerd.
3. i thought my full name was 'anastasia.' {it's not.} this went on until probably second grade-ish.
4. pink bubblegum was my favorite baskin-robbins ice cream.
5. my favorite portland trail blazer player was cliff robinson. he truly inspired my love of headbands at the ripe age of three. {i've got pictures to prove it.}
6. i was a total skip-it champion.
7. i wore overalls and clogs. probably together. ew. also, hush puppies, anyone?
8. i was a campfire girl.
9. i had an extensive collection of beanie babies. with tag protectors. and acrylic display cases. oh yeah, that bad.
10. disney movies made me cry. especially the scary wolves in beauty and the beast.
the title sequence to david fincher's the girl with the dragon tattoo was extremely interesting. both bizarre and visually stunning. equal parts disturbing and brilliant.
but it's not sunday, you protest. well, no. it's not sunday. but my blogging has been extremely irregular since the holidays, anyway. plus, i forgot to post a song on sunday. {oops.} so here it is...
it's baaaaaack. the seattle list of fabulous fun was resurrected this past weekend. i never got through the list before i graduated and ended up filing it away in my wallet for the last six months. well, when i decided i was going to head up to seattle for new year's eve, i knew i had to break out the list again. it was a little crinkled. a little crumpled. but mostly still in one piece.
my weekend in seattle was going to be the perfect opportunity to cross off a few items. or so i thought. it turns out basically every tourist-y attraction in seattle was closed for the new year holiday. even pike place market. meh. luckily, the ferry runs 365 days a year. thank you, wsdot.
the ride to and from bainbridge island was a blast. the weather was absolute fabulous. sunshine and blue skies and a refreshing breeze. the perfect way to start out the year 2012.
{waiting to depart seattle.}
{titanic?}
{tarah and mini seattle.}
{sufficiently windblown.}
{mt. rainier.}
{bainbridge island. also, where dr. mcdreamy lives. or at least where i envision him living. yes, i made a grey's anatomy reference.}
