how to look for a job.

  1. listen to your favorite indie band.
  2. eat chocolate.
  3. eat more chocolate.
  4. read business-type books to get in the right mindset.
  5. spend large amounts of time stalking researching interesting ad agencies and their ceos/presidents/vice presidents. thank you linkedin & google. {i'm not creepy, i promise.}
  6. realize your current rèsumè still has your previous address on it. hmmmm...subconsciously missing seattle?
  7. color code a binder filled with potential companies, cover letters, contact information. yay organization.
  8. spell check your email 25789321 times and press send.
  9. cross your fingers and say bye bye to your updated & beautiful rèsumè.
  10. eat more chocolate.

pasta all'arrabbiata

'arrabbiata' is italian for 'angry.' this pasta sure is angry, at least in the spicy & fiery sense. {courtesy of the addition of peperoncino, or chili pepper.} arrabbiata sauce is so very simple to make, with few ingredients: olive oil, garlic, onion, tomato, peperoncino, and parsley. traditionally arrabbiata is served with penne pasta, however, i used capellini instead. yum.

{part of the fun in cooking is making a mess.}

{simmering sauce.}

{garnished with pecorino toscano & fresh basil}

sunshine toast.

happy friday! i woke up to sunshine & blue skies this morning. aka the most perfect day for a sunshine toast brekkie. {sunshine toast is an easy and fun twist on the standard eggs & toast.} i decided to fry up a veggie sausage patty, as well. yum!

sunshine toast.

ingredients:
  • olive oil & butter
  • one slice any sort of bread
  • cookie cutter
  • egg
  • salt & pepper to taste
directions:
  1. heat up a tablespoon or two of olive oil in a medium sized pan.
  2. using a cookie cutter, cut a hole in the middle of a slice of bread.
  3. butter both sides of the bread, {including the extra bit,} and toast in pan.
  4. flip bread over and crack the egg directly into the hole.
  5. season with salt & pepper and finish cooking until the egg is set how you like.
  6. serve with toasted cut-out.
voila! there you have it:
