1. pin your curtains to the desired length. and make sure they're still hanging from the curtain rod because it is a complete waste of energy to take them down.

2. prepare the rest of your materials: iron-on hem tape and iron. or in my case, a flat iron. multi-purpose tool here, people.

3. blah blah blah iron-on hem tape. burn yourself. get really creeped out by the episode of criminal minds you're watching. wish you had taken the curtains down in the first place. pour yourself a glass of vino. "iron" some more.
